Beam Coating Project
A leading California Food Processor had a serious problem. Their structural steel beams had rusted severely and had become a sanitation issue. The challenge was that they could not shut down for more than two days at a time. The environment was fairly severe, it was constantly wet and was washed down several times a day with a caustic cleaning solution.
A coating system manufactured by Devoe Coatings was recommended that consisted of a corrosion resistant Epoxy primer and a chemical resistant, fast curing Polyaspartic Urethane finish coat. One crew came in the morning to complete the surface preparation, another crew came in the same evening to apply the prime coat. The finish coat was applied the second day.
